Sound Bath Auckland Restore, Heal & Let Go
In the midst of our busy life, true stillness can feel out of reach. A sound bath offers something rare: a space where you don’t have to do anything except receive. Immersed in the resonant frequencies of ancient instruments, your nervous system begins to soften, your mind finds quiet and your body remembers how to rest.
Brian Berneman has been offering sound baths and sound healing experiences in Auckland since 2015. Using Tibetan singing bowls, crystal quartz bowls, gongs, shamanic drums, chimes and other instruments, Brian creates a deeply immersive sound journey grounded in both ancient wisdom and modern neuroscience.

“Attending Brian’s Sound Journey classes has been a favourite thing to do on a Sunday evening. Each session is carefully crafted, and the combination of different sound frequencies and meditation creates a deeply calming and restorative atmosphere. The setting is a tranquil and serene space. As Brian says "you don’t need to do anything, just be here and relax”. He will guide you through the meditation experience with sound. A way to rejuvenate and refresh for a new week. Brian's expertise and gentle guidance help you release stress, find inner peace, and reconnect with yourself on a deeper level. Brian is a very credible person in this space and has plenty of international experience over the course of his career.
I highly recommend his Sound Journey classes to anyone looking to enhance their well-being and find more peace and connection in their life.”

A sound bath is a meditative experience in which you lie down comfortably and are ‘bathed’ in sound frequencies produced by live instruments. Unlike music, the sounds in a sound bath are not composed - they are played intuitively, responding to the energy and needs of the group in the moment.
The vibrations produced by instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls and gongs have been shown to shift brainwave states from beta (active thinking) into alpha and theta (deep relaxation, meditation and light sleep) states associated with reduced cortisol, accelerated healing, and profound mental clarity.
You do not need any meditation experience. You simply lie down, close your eyes, and let the sound do the work.

Brian’s sound bath experiences typically unfold in three stages:
Arrival & Settling
You will be welcomed into the space and invited to set up your in your space (mat, blanket, eye pillow and cushion) in comfort. Brian will guide a brief mindfulness and breath awareness practice to help you arrive and let go of the day.
The Sound Journey
Brian plays intuitively across a range of instruments (Tibetan and crystal quartz singing bowls, gong, shamanic drum, chimes and voice) creating a layered soundscape that takes you deep into a meditative state. Sessions run 45–90 minutes depending on the format.
Integration
The session closes gently. Brian guides you back into awareness with soft sound and breath, allowing time to rest before returning to the room. A brief sharing space is offered at the close of group events for those who wish to reflect.

"I’ve attended Brian’s sound sessions and have found them to be very relaxing and enjoyable. In addition, I’ve had 4 different healing sessions, each a little different. Brian is trained in various modalities combination of Family Entanglement work with Reiki and Sound – it was an unexpectedly powerful session and I felt a clear shift in some long-held beliefs. I’m glad I took the time for a session."

A sound bath is a meditative experience in which you lie down and are immersed in sound frequencies produced by live instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls and gongs. The vibrations shift your brainwave state into deep relaxation, reducing stress hormones and activating the body's natural healing response. No meditation experience is required.
What should I bring to a sound bath in Auckland?
Brian recommends bringing a yoga mat, a blanket, a pillow or cushion, an eye cover and any other items that help you feel comfortable lying down for an extended period. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid a heavy meal in the hour before the session.
How long does a sound bath last?
Brian's public sound baths typically run 60 minutes including a short settling practice at the start. The 90-Minute Sound Journey runs, as the name suggests, for 90 minutes. Private and corporate sessions are tailored to the group's needs.
Is a sound bath the same as a gong bath?
